Gospel Many people sit in church regularly, yet remain unclear on what the Gospel actually is. Let’s make it plain. The Gospel is not church culture. It is not a denomination. It is not self-improvement or behavior adjustment. It is not deliverance routines. It is not a system for getting material results. The Gospel is news. Not advice. Not rules. Not religion. The word comes from the Greek euangelion — meaning good news, a proclamation of something already accomplished. Not something you achieve. Not something you sustain. Something God has already done through Christ. Here is the Gospel as Scripture defines it: 1 Corinthians 15:1–4 Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried, and He rose again on the third day. That is the Gospel.
