THE GOSPEL

Image
Gospel Many people sit in church regularly, yet remain unclear on what the Gospel actually is. Let’s make it plain. The Gospel is not church culture. It is not a denomination. It is not self-improvement or behavior adjustment. It is not deliverance routines. It is not a system for getting material results. The Gospel is news. Not advice. Not rules. Not religion. The word comes from the Greek euangelion — meaning good news, a proclamation of something already accomplished. Not something you achieve. Not something you sustain. Something God has already done through Christ. Here is the Gospel as Scripture defines it: 1 Corinthians 15:1–4 Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried, and He rose again on the third day. That is the Gospel. Not your fasting. Not your giving. Not your effort. Christ’s finished work. The Gospel declares that God has dealt with sin through Jesus’ death, defeated death through His resurrection, and now offers forgiv...

Every Believer’s Authority: Casting Out Demons Is Not for the Few, but for All Who Believe

Image
Topic: Every Believer’s Authority: Casting Out Demons Is Not for the Few, but for All Who Believe Speaker: Evangelist John Emmanuel Dickson Casting out devils is not reserved for a spiritual elite or a “special class” of believers—it is a clear expression of the authority given to everyone who believes in Christ. Jesus Himself declared, “In My name they will cast out demons” (Mark 16:17), and He did not limit that promise to apostles, pastors, or a select few. This authority flows from our identity in Him and our faith in His finished work. When we understand that Christ has already triumphed over principalities and powers (Colossians 2:15), we begin to walk in the confidence that His victory is now ours. The believer does not cast out demons by personal strength or status, but by the power of Jesus’ name and the authority He has entrusted to all who believe. Throughout Scripture, we see that this mandate is consistent with the call to advance God’s Kingdom. Jesus commissioned His foll...

A friend recently told me about a church that filled a stadium during their crusade. At first, I was impressed. But then I discovered something I didn’t know before there are people whose actual occupation is crusade mobilization. They have a database, a base, and hundreds of contacts they can call whenever there’s a program. They negotiate fees,  sometimes ₦2,000 per person, sometimes less. Their job is simple: show up, fill the seats, shout “Amen,” respond on cue. The stadium looks full. The atmosphere looks charged. The photos look powerful. But many of the people are there for one reason which is money. Now imagine a young minister watching from afar. He sees the crowd and cries, “God, do this for me too!” Not knowing that what he’s admiring have been carefully arranged. And that’s the danger. We have slowly shifted from pursuing the Source to competing with results. We are no longer comparing grace, we are comparing crowds. Meanwhile, some of those crowds were purchased. This ...

SPIRITUAL GIFTS ARE NOT FOR SHOW

Image
Spiritual Gifts Are Not for Show Speaker: Evangelist John Emmanuel Dickson Text:1 Corinthians 12:7 Spiritual gifts are not given to believers to impress people or prove spirituality. They are given to serve, to edify the Church, and to glorify God. The Bible says, “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good” (1 Corinthians 12:7). This means spiritual gifts are for the benefit of others, not for personal display. Paul also reminds us that even if we speak in tongues, prophesy, or have great faith, without love, we are nothing (1 Corinthians 13:1–2). Love—not performance—is the true evidence of spiritual maturity. Jesus warned against practicing righteousness to be seen by others (Matthew 6:1). When spiritual gifts become a stage performance, they lose their eternal value. The Holy Spirit does not anoint us for attention but for service. Ephesians 4:12 says gifts are given “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ...

WHO IS A CELEBRITY PREACHER?

Image
Who is a Celebrity Preacher? A celebrity preacher is a minister whose influence is magnified by visibility and media platforms (Matthew 5:14–16), often reaching multitudes, yet Scripture reminds us that ministry is measured not by popularity but by faithfulness, humility, and lives transformed by Christ (1 Corinthians 4:2; Micah 6:8; Galatians 1:10).

MINISTRY IS NOT CONTENT CREATION

Image
Ministry Is Not Content Creation Ministry is not about posting for relevance or chasing likes; it is about obeying God and serving people. Paul said, “For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord” (2 Corinthians 4:5). Content may attract attention, but only the gospel changes hearts. If Christ is not the center, no amount of creativity can produce true fruit. A minister is called to be a shepherd, not a performer. Jesus didn’t tell Peter to grow an audience; He said, “Feed My sheep” (John 21:15–17). Real ministry happens in teaching, prayer, correction, and walking with people through life. Cameras can capture moments, but they cannot replace presence. Platforms are useful, but they are not the assignment. Paul reminded Timothy to “preach the word… in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2). Whether there is applause or silence, visibility or obscurity, the calling remains the same: faithfulness. God rewards obedience, not online engagement (1 Corinthians 4:2). — Evangel...

SERVANT LEADERSHIP - LEADING LIKE JESUS

Image
SERVANT LEADERSHIP — LEADING LIKE JESUS A pastor is not called to rule over people, but to serve them. True leadership in God’s kingdom is shown through humility, sacrifice, and love—just as Jesus led. Key Points Leadership through Service A pastor leads best by serving first, not by position or title. 📖 Mark 10:43–45 Authority Rooted in Love Spiritual authority flows from genuine care for people, not control. 📖 2 Corinthians 4:5 Humility Before Honor God lifts leaders who walk humbly before Him and others. 📖 James 4:10 Sacrifice for the Flock A servant leader is willing to give time, strength, and comfort for others. 📖 John 10:11 Jesus as the Perfect Example Christ washed feet, carried the cross, and laid down His life—this is the model. 📖 John 13:14–15, Philippians 2:5–7 Closing Thought A pastor does not lead from above the people, but from among them—following the footsteps of Christ.
