MISSIONS IS POSSIBLE
MISSIONS IS POSSIBLE
Sermon by: Evangelist John Emmanuel Dickson
Key Text: Matthew 28:18–20; Romans 10:13–15
---
Introduction
We live in a time when many look at the harvest field and say, "It is too hard," "People no longer respond to the gospel," or "There are too many obstacles." But I am here to declare boldly: Missions is not only necessary — Missions is possible! God has not changed His mission, and He has not changed His strategy — He still sends men!
---
1. The Mandate Is Clear
Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
> “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…”
Jesus did not suggest it — He commanded it.
Missions is not a special calling for a few — it is the heartbeat of the Church.
Every believer has a role: to pray, to give, or to go.
The Great Commission is not the Great Suggestion.
---
2. The Power Is Available
Acts 1:8
> "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses..."
We are not sent in weakness; we are sent in power.
The Holy Spirit is Heaven's answer to human limitations.
If God called you, He will empower you.
You are not going in your own name — you are going in Jesus’ name!
---
3. The Harvest Is Ready
John 4:35
> “...I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.”
The world is not too hard — our hearts may be too cold.
In every village, city, and nation, there are souls hungry for truth.
Stop saying, “They won’t listen.” Instead say, “I will go!”
The issue is not with the field; the issue is with the laborers.
---
4. The Cost Is High — But Worth It
Romans 10:14-15
> “How can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?”
Missions may require sacrifice — of comfort, finances, even life.
But what is the price of a soul? Eternity!
Jesus died for the whole world — we must live for the world to know Him.
We don’t count the cost to avoid it; we count the cost to pay it.
---
5. The Strategy Is Simple
Go. Preach. Disciple. Repeat.
Go to them — don’t wait for them to come to you.
Preach the gospel — don’t complicate it.
Disciple the converts — don’t abandon them.
Repeat the cycle — don’t stop until the whole world knows.
---
6. Examples That Prove It’s Possible
Apostle Paul reached cities across the Roman empire without social media or planes.
Modern missionaries are still transforming lives in hostile nations.
You and I — we are here today because someone obeyed the call.
---
7. Our Response: What Must We Do?
a. Pray Fervently
> Matthew 9:38
“Ask the Lord of the harvest...to send out workers.”
b. Give Generously
> Support missions financially. You may not go, but your money can.
c. Go Boldly
> If God is calling you — don’t delay. Obedience is urgent.
d. Mobilize Others
> Share the vision with your church, family, and friends.
---
Conclusion
Missions is Possible — because God is with us.
The gospel is still powerful. The Holy Spirit is still active. The harvest is still ripe. And Jesus is still calling, “Who will go for Us?”
Let your answer be like Isaiah:
> “Here am I. Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8)
