WHO AM I IN CHRIST ?

🧍‍♂️ "Who Am I in Christ?"

Theme Verse: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)

---

🎯 Teaching Objective:

To help young people understand their identity in Christ and live from a place of victory, confidence, and purpose.

---

🧠 Introduction:

In today’s world, identity confusion is everywhere. Social media, peer pressure, and cultural standards constantly try to define who we are. But the most important question is: Who does God say you are?
If you are born again, you are no longer defined by your past, your background, or people’s opinions. You are defined by what Jesus did for you on the cross.

---

🔑 Main Points:

---

1. You Are a New Creation

📖 2 Corinthians 5:17
The moment you accept Christ, your old sinful nature is replaced by a new spirit. Your past is forgiven, and your future is secured.

> 🔸 You are no longer what you used to be.
🔸 Your past does not define your identity — Jesus does.

---

2. You Are Forgiven and Loved

📖 Romans 8:1 — “There is now no condemnation…”
📖 Jeremiah 31:3 — “I have loved you with an everlasting love.”

> 🔸 In Christ, you’re not under judgment.
🔸 God loves you unconditionally, not based on your performance.

---

3. You Are Righteous and Accepted

📖 2 Corinthians 5:21 — “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us...”
📖 Ephesians 1:6 — “Accepted in the beloved.”

> 🔸 You are not trying to earn God’s approval — you already have it in Christ.
🔸 God sees you as righteous because of Jesus.

---

4. You Are a Child of God

📖 John 1:12 — “To all who received Him…He gave the right to become children of God.”
📖 Romans 8:15–17 — “You received the Spirit of adoption.”

> 🔸 You are not an orphan; you belong to God’s family.
🔸 You can boldly call God your Father (Abba).

---

5. You Are Empowered to Reign in Life

📖 Romans 5:17 — “...those who receive abundance of grace...shall reign in life.”
📖 Philippians 4:13 — “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

> 🔸 You have authority and power in Christ.
🔸 You’re not a victim; you’re more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37).

---

6. You Are Set Apart (Holy)

📖 1 Peter 2:9 — “You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood…”
📖 1 Thessalonians 4:7 — “God has called us to live holy lives.”

> 🔸 You are called to stand out, not blend in.
🔸 You are chosen and called to make a difference.

---

7. You Are God’s Masterpiece

📖 Ephesians 2:10 — “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.”

> 🔸 You were created on purpose, for a purpose.
🔸 You are valuable — not a mistake.

---

🧎‍♂️ Practical Application for Youth:

Stop comparing yourself to others — you are unique in Christ.

Renew your mind daily with the Word of God (Romans 12:2).

Confess your identity in Christ aloud each day.

Let your choices reflect your new identity (purity, honesty, purpose).

---

🙏 Declaration (Say This):

> “I am who God says I am. I am forgiven, loved, chosen, and empowered. I am not a failure. I am a child of God. I walk in victory, not in fear. I live for Jesus!”

---

🧩 Discussion Questions:

1. Why is it important to know who you are in Christ?

2. What lies or labels have you believed that contradict your identity in Christ?

3. How can you live differently now that you know who you are?
